About the Clinic

Our low vision clinic assists veterans with moderate visual impairment live a more productive, independent lifestyle.

Intermediate Low Vision Clinic

  • Comprehensive Assessment
  • Low Vision Examination
  • Low Vision Therapy
  • Communication Skills Training
  • Health Management Training
  • Home Management Training
  • An individualized set of goals are established for each Veteran to assist with their leading a productive and independent life.

Eligibility and Referrals

  • Veterans with 20/70 or worse visual acuity and legally blind with mostly preserved peripheral visual fields are considered for this outpatient program.
  • Referrals can be made to the Intermediate Low Vision Clinic through a/an:

    • VIST Coordinator
    • Eye Care Professional at the Medical Center
    • Outside Eye Care Provider (upon receipt of medical information listing diagnosis and acuities)
