Resident Benefits

1. The General Practice Residency begins on the last Sunday in June is completed on the last Saturday in June. The one-year residents are paid a stipend of $41,200 per annum, paid every two weeks.
2. Dental uniforms are furnished. Normal working hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., with 45 minutes for lunch, Monday through Friday.
3. All federal holidays are observed and 13 days of annual leave are granted.
4. Administrative leave may be granted for attending state and regional dental meetings and for taking of a state board examination.
5. Resident training includes a one-week on-call duty, which is assigned every other week. 
6. Upon satisfactory completion of the year of training, residents receive an official certificate from the Department of Veterans Affairs
7. The Federal Tort Claim Act covers residents and malpractice insurance is not required.
8. Utilization of fourhanded dentistry with a full time assistant chair side for each resident.
9. Participation in government group life and health insurance programs are available.
