RHI team assists Veterans
Rural Health Initiative team assists Veterans at last year's Watermelon Festival.

Veterans who attend this year’s Watermelon Festival in Murfreesboro, N.C., can learn about various services available to them through the Veterans Health Administration.  Representatives from the Hampton VA Medical Center’s Rural Health Initiative team will have an information booth at this year’s festival for Veterans and their family members on Aug. 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Rural Health team representatives will offer pamphlets concerning diabetes, Agent Orange exposure and weight management.  An eligibility specialist will also be onsite to help Veterans enroll during the festival.

Veterans interested in applying for health care benefits are encouraged to bring a photo copy of their DD 214 form and their previous year’s financial information.

For more information contact the Hampton VAMC Rural Health Initiative team at (757) 344-9501.
